Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial Model School, Charvarcode is one of the outstanding projects of the Muslim Education Trust For Coastal Area (METCA) Varkala, founded and established in 1992 by a group of altruistic and dedicated people. The area of its activities is socially, educationally and culturally backward for various reasons, the chief among them is that the major chunk of the population consists of fishermen and allied traditional labourers.

METCA is managing various institutions such as CHMM College for Advanced Studies and MAM Model School,Chavarcode and METCA College for Teacher Education (B.Ed.College) Chavarcode,Palayamkunnu P.O and MCA course and MBA courses.

The MAM Model School aims at providing best possible quality education to its students. The school believes in secular education that draws strength from all religions. It strives to develop in the students qualities of integrity, responsibility, honesty, trust, tolerance, national outlook, compassion and healthy competitions.

The School believes that,education should foster independent thinking and enable its students to face bravely the challengers of the twenty first century.
