Mathen Mappillai Memorial Public School was founded in 1991 and through all its glories past years has taken pride in the education of students from all sections of the society. Initially the school was started to serve the interests of the local community and the children of weaker section of society.
The members of the Pakalomattom Thazhamon Society for rehabilitation and development, a charitable society registered under the Charitable Act,1954, decided to start this social venture to cater to the needs of the society. The school is named after the ancestor of the family, Mathen Mappillai who by chance came to Ayroor, on his mission to look for his brother who had been somewhere around Kozhencherry area during that time.
