We are profoundly committed to metamorphosing education so that every child will receive an ample experience of great learning. Founded in 2008, the School is the latest venture by Mar Athanasius College Association, a society registered in 1953 under the Educational, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act. The Association runs a chain of prestigious institutions of higher learning--the Mar Athanasius College, the M.A.College of Engineering --all located at the 75-acre sprawling campus known as Mar Athanasius Mount at Kothamangalam and also the Mar Baselious College, located at Adimaly, all under the able leadership of Prof.M.P.Varghese, a great man of vision of our times whose devotion, commitment, untiring work and timely action have been largely responsible for the transformation of Kothamangalam, to its present state during the later half of the last century.
MAIS is a co-educational International School, nestled in an exclusive 10-acre plot, amidst the lush green country-side of Mar Athanasius Mount, Kothamangalam. Situated just outside the town, away from the din and clutter of city life, the air in the school campus is fresh, crisp and free from pollution. The school thus offers an excellent opportunity for ‘interactive learning’ with a serene nature.
MAIS is easily accessible by air, rail and road. Situated just 35 kilometers away from the Cochin International Airport and the nearest railhead, Aluva, Kothamangalam is well connected by the State and the National highways, opening the gateway to Munnar and the High ranges.
Our aim is to impart the best of education with utmost care, love and understanding with a view to instil into the young minds early enough moral and ethical values, strength of character, discipline, national outlook, a firm faith in God Almighty and an abiding spirit of sacrifice in human relationship and thus help each other to develop a healthier and broader outlook on life.
Matha Nagar Public School is run under the auspices of the Arch Diocese of Ernakulam and administered by a managing Commitee with the Aux. Bishop as the Chairman and the Vicar of the Matha Nagar Church as Manager. It is affiliated to the council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. We have classes from L.K.G. to Std XII and the subjects offered in ISC (XII) are Science Stream:- English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Computer Science. Commerce Stream:- English, Accountancy, Commerce, Economics, Computer Science / Maths.
