The trust was formed with an avowed mission to provide modern facilities of Health, Education and Social Upliftment in rural and surrounding areas of the Kanyakumari district. The trust’s main objective is to support rural people to cultivate unity through philanthropic activities and to experience livelihood in a congenial atmosphere through self employment, without the interference of cultural moorings, customs and superstitions.

Early on, the Trust offered financial assistance to the institution for providing benevolent and voluntary services to the poor sections of rural society. Subsequently, the founder trustee, Mr. Kannan .

His desire to serve those in his surrounding village is very noble; however, it was a challenge to implement that vision and mission. Therefore, his family and sons in the United States initiated a collective effort with the help of like-minded citizens and well-wishers of the Village and Taluka. The Trust established an institution to provide health and education services in the surrounding areas within a 30 km radius.

Social Service Trust was established in 1999 with prime objective of serving the primary needs of the residents of Thiruppathisaram, Meloor, Kehoor under Nagercoil corporation.
