Belgravia Restaurant is a modern cuisine that offers different types of dishes coming from London with a European influence. The restaurant was founded by Sheikha Lulwa Al-Thani and The Executive Chef Mr. Omar Alawi. They worked together for 6 and a half years to build a new concept now known as “Belgravia Restaurant”. The reason behind choosing the name Belgravia is because people from the Middle East loved visiting and investing in the Belgravia Area in London. Belgravia is an affluent district in west London and is noted for its elite properties. The area takes its name from one of the dukes of the Westminster’s subsidiary titles, Viscount Belgrave, which is in turn derived from Belgravia, Cheshire, a village in the land belonging to the Duke.

To add to that, Belgravia’s most famous dish, Risotto, is the best in Qatar and the main reason our regulars dine at our restaurant.
Belgravia’s Executive Chef Mr. Omar Alawi worked in a French restaurant when he was 20 years old in Kensington and Chelsea Borough. He was taught by strict French Chefs then moved to different restaurants to learn different styles from around the world. In the year 2000, Mr. Omar accepted an offer to work with the company he was employed at before. 4 years later, in 2004, he became the head chef in that restaurant, and that gave him the ability to add dishes and play with the menu. Gradually, the place became busier and attracted more middle eastern customers. It gave him the opportunity to make something for them and dishes they prefer and eat. Middle Eastern people went crazy over the dishes he created. As of that, the place became an attraction for the middle eastern throughout the year especially during summer. After 14 years, he left the restaurant and got to know Sheikha Lulwa Al-Thani and they co-founded “Belgravia Restaurant”.
