GIS was established in 2015; since then, we have changed and grown significantly in the West bay lagoon behind the MOE&HE new building. From very small beginnings almost eight years ago, GIS has grown into one of the most well-known and most prestigious schools in Qatar, with around 300 students on role. In 2019, the school received an excellent grade from the Qatar National Schools Accreditation programme, when inspected by the country’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
While in 2016, GIS achieved Cambridge International accreditation and the school is following Oxford International Curriculum
Gheras International School is led and managed entirely by International professionals, who strive to maintain the highest standards of the current English education system, whilst also supporting the school’s Arabic culture and international context. The curriculum is taught in English, and the official language of communication is English. The classes are segregated starting Year 4 between girls and boys. The average class capacity is 24 students per class. Teacher assistants are provided for classes from K to Year 3.
