Govt. High School Sector 19D, Chandigarh is a west facing school, opposite to Gurudwara sector 19D, Chandigarh. The school has 2 storey building with herbal garden, kitchen garden and 1 playground. It has a cricket academy where the state level players practice and matches are also conducted for the same. It has boundaries with the Government Model Senior Secondary School sector 19 C, Chandigarh. The School has strength of around 520 students from I to X class with a staff of 16 teachers under the inchargeship of Mr. Kesar Singh Pathania. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Walia, Principal of GMSSS-19C, Chandigarh holds the DDO power of the school.

The Herbal and Kitchen gardens are well maintained by the gardeners. The school has under 17 cricket team. The students are hardworking and sincere. Neelam from class X got first position in Humanity Olympiad test and Vivek from Class VI got first position in Junior wing. The teachers are hard-working and creative. Various activities and field surveys and melas are organized at regular intervals in the school. The students are motivated to participate which helps in building up their confidence.

Overall the physical, cultural and management system is well maintained by the staff and the class IV members of the school.

Education has an important role in the life of an individual and it cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals FOR THEIR PRESENT AND FUTURE and inculcates values in them that would govern all their choices in life. For me, Education does not mean only to literate. It means literate is wisdom. My aim is not only to be an able administrator but also to be a friend, philosopher, and guide to students and teachers one whom they can count on and trust at all times.

Man of character is the real pillar of the nation, so school education is the foundation of the character of an individual. The habit of study, the love of learning and the quest for truth, the responsible use of freedom, personal integrity, and a willingness to help improve society, are especially important. It is well known that the critical developmental period for these qualities is up to the age of twelve years. The earlier a child benefits from an education that fosters these good qualities the better the chance he or she has to reach his or her full potential and to make a positive contribution to society.
