The school is inception was as Govt. Junior Basic School in the year 1958 to provide education in Malayalam and Bengali medium, first upgraded to Middle School in year1982 and then to Secondary School in 1993. Over the times, with changing aspirations of residents, the medium of instruction was changed from vernacular to Hindi and then to English. Presently it is a fully English medium school. The school’s alumni include members who held top posts in the Andaman & Nicobar Administration
