ABOUT US
"Jiwan is located on the fourth floor of the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) and is an essential chapter in the museum’s storytelling experience. Design works in harmony with the menu to give you a taste of Qatar’s nature and rich traditions linked to activities by the sea. The result is a calming, comfortable environment to enjoy the essence of Qatar."
Interiors inspired by Qatar’s history
Designed by Koichi Takada Architects, the restaurant interiors are inspired by Qatar’s rich history of pearl diving. The serene colour palette references tones of the desert and sea, with gems fluttering overhead giving a sense of being underwater.
Views from the terrace
Located on the fourth floor of the National Museum of Qatar, Jiwan’s terrace has uninterrupted views of Doha’s skyline; the city below a vibrant blend of cultures which combine to define the energy of the place. From the pastel-coloured Old Doha Port and the Corniche waterfront promenade, to the glowing city lights of West Bay, the sights are far and wide.
Our dining pods, inspired by the sand dunes of the Inland Sea (Khor Al Adaid), are a cozy spot during the winter months.
At the heart of the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ)
The complex form of the desert rose, found in Qatar’s arid desert regions, inspired the design of the striking new museum building, conceived by French architect Jean Nouvel. The story of Qatar unfolds across 11 remarkable galleries, each with an innovative approach to storytelling.
