The Siddhartha Academy of General & Technical Education conceived the idea of starting a school on the public school lines in 1989. An architect with experience about the educational institutions in the USA designed the infrastructure. Col.H.K.L.Johar, Ex-Commandant, Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, the founder Principal set the ambience for a stimulating experience of education. The school is based on the residential system of education and combines in it the best traditions of the age-old gurukul and the requirements of the prevailing socio-economic realities. The school is located at Kanuru, just two kilometers away from N.H-5 in Vijayawada city. The 20 acre campus surrounded by lawns and fields of lush green provides a tranquil setting for an education that is not only stimulating and fascinating but also fulfilling and rewarding.

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Classes are from IV to X at the secondary school level and XI and XII at senior secondary level. The medium of instruction is English. The curriculum is based on the NCERT syllabi as recommended by the CBSE. The subjects of study upto class X include English, Hindi / Telugu, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. Students study Telugu / Hindi as third language up to VIII standard. That apart, they are awarded grades for the skills acquired in SUPW (socially useful and productive work) subjects. The SUPW subjects include computer science, art, craft and physical & health education. Other subjects of study offered by the school at the primary and secondary level include classical music, classical dance, instrumental music, wood craft, embroidery and drawing & painting. On completing their class X course, the students appear for the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) conducted by the CBSE in March every year.
