Kendriya Vidyalaya Loktak was established in the year 1979 and in 2004 we proudly celebrated the SILVER JUBLEE of its establishment.To cater to the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a common programme of education;

Under the Chairmanship of Mr. M.K.Madhavan (Chief Engineer NHPC & Chairman VMC) & Mr. A.K. Pathak, First Principal the Vidyalaya started functioning upto class X and now it has grown into a full fledged Vidyalaya offering Science and Arts Streams in class XII. It is co-educational school with English and Hindi as the medium of instruction and affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi.

Initially this Vidyalaya was set up to cater to the needs of wards of NHPC employees and that of Para military forces posted in this project to maintain the law and order situation in & around Loktak (Manipur), but now a days trends have changed and Vidyalaya grants admission as per Admission Policy for the year.
