Mauritius Conscious Travel is a boutique travel company dedicated to creating bespoke sustainable trips in the Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius, Rodrigues and Reunion.

Each traveller’s quest for wanderlust takes singular forms and experiences – unique to the traveller, that is why all our trips are bespoke. Our itineraries will take you through the path less travelled in Mauritius, Rodrigues and Reunion island, to lifetime encounters and landscapes that will leave you in awe by their beauty.

The Story of our founders

It all began in 2015 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates when Romina & Gerald met while they were both pursuing their professional careers in hospitality.

Both have a passion for hospitality and travel with a different professional background, Romina is an expert in sustainability and Gerald a digital marketer. One day while sharing their vision for their passion and how they would like to make a difference in our world, an idea was born.

Gerald is born and raised in Mauritius, since his early age he has been exposed to the tourism industry. Throughout the years he has seen how Mauritius was growing as a world renowned destination for its beautiful resorts, pristine beaches and pretty much that it.

As a local he knew there was more Mauritius could offer to a traveller. He wanted to introduce Mauritius to the travellers as a local friend would do, the authentic way so that they too could see all the beauty in nature, traditions and landscapes that only locals know.

Sustainability is more than an expertise that Romina has, it’s her life passion. Since her childhood she was introduced to the bases of holistic living through her father, Roberto Tello who was an Agronomist to the United Nations FAO programme.

She wanted to make a genuine impact on the world through something she is passionate about. Being in the travel and hospitality industry she naturally felt drawn to that impact there. Putting together what both of them wanted was the start of the idea of a travel company that would make travellers discover a destination in a sustainable and authentic way

That destination was Mauritius, to begin with…

Carbon Compensated Trips

All our trips are 100% carbon compensated. We calculate the carbon footprint of your trip including your flights, transfers and car rental. Mauritius Conscious invests the money of the carbon offset into a solar farm in Mauritius.

The solar farm is part of the few existing initiatives in Mauritius to reduce the country’s dependency on fossil fuel.

A Trip for A Trip

Many of the young Mauritian girls and boys do not know their own country’s forests, waterfalls, mountains and coasts.

We work for a destination that locals get to enjoy as much as travelers do. For each trip booked with us we dedicate a portion of the revenue to sponsor local kids to discover their own Island.

For every person booking a trip with Mauritius Conscious, a local kid from disadvantaged backgrounds gets a full-day outing somewhere they haven’t been before.
