Prof. Dr. P. Dhanarajan began his medical journey at Stanley Medical College, Chennai, where he earned his M.B.B.S. His passion for orthopedics led him to pursue an M.S. in Orthopedics from Madras Medical College (MMC). Prof. Dr. Dhanarajan’s distinguished career began as an Assistant Professor at Royapettah Medical College. Over the next thirty years, he made significant contributions to the government hospital system, serving at Chengalpattu, ESI Aynavaram, and Kilpauk Medical College (KMC). His career culminated in his role as the Chief of Orthopedics at Royapettah Government Hospital.

Prof. Dr. P. Dhanarajan’s contributions to the field have been recognized with the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, the TNOA Prof. P. Dhanarajan Medal for Innovative or Adaptive Trauma Work is named in his honor, celebrating his enduring impact on orthopedic surgery
