Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua was started in April 2003 at Kathua, J&K. Since its inception, it has steadily progressed to reach a recognizable position among the Kendriya Vidyalaya's of the Jammu region. Since its inception in 2003 in the civil sector, the school caters to the educational requirements of students from class I to class 12 with Science Stream. The school has more than 800 students and growing in strength continuously. At present the Vidyalaya is running under the auspices of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Jammu Region.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua is like an infant opened in 2003 only three year old and is trying hard to attain desired heights. All the members of the staff are working very hard for the all round development of the child, which is the main objective of opening the KVS. For this purpose sports and games at various levels, co-curricular activities, creative activities like science and social science exhibitions are being organized at various levels to explore the hidden talents of the child.
