Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, Sector-40-C, Chandigarh was established under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan, Amritsar in 1986, rechristened Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society in 2011. The School was founded in the name of the eight Guru Sri Harkrishan Sahib. The spiritual and educational philosophy of empowering the young minds is the guiding spirit of this institution.

The school has covered many milestones and stands today as a four storied building with well lit, airy class rooms, well equipped laboratories and library along with a computer rooms as a pinnacle of pride and prestige under the able guidance and supervision of School Management Committee who has collected huge donations from the philanthropists of this city to setup this fine structure. No Government aid or any other aid is provided to this institution. 

A well trained team of staff members provides quality education through a highly secular frame work and a well set curriculum. Big classrooms,well equipped Laboratories,technically designed Digital Smart board classrooms, Computer section, library and Audio visual room are always kept on updating to meet the latest demands and requirements of our students. The beautiful Nursery Corner with the latest play equipment adorns corner of the school. Divinity and Sikh history find an enlightened approach to build the character of the students. Sports and music is an important place in the school curriculum to cater the taste buds of our students zeal to excel in performing arts.

It is our great pride to say that many of our students have won accolades at U.T. National and even International levels in fine arts. A Gymnasium and Mathematics laboratory have been added in 2005. The school has been upgraded to Senior secondary w.e.f April 2007 with Medical, Non Medical and Humanities Streams The commerce stream was introduced from 2011 session.
