Taibah University was established in 2003. It is a government university located in Medina, the first capital in the history of Islam and the source of the Prophet's message. Medina is a global destination for Muslims around the world because of the presence of the Prophet's Mosque, the second holiest Islamic site, in addition to many mosques and historical and archaeological sites.
The university sets out through its vision and mission to achieve a balance between its basic principles: education and training, scientific research and innovation, and social responsibility, and its aspiration for excellence and appearance on the international map of higher education.
Within a general framework of commitment to quality standards, Taibah University awards diplomas, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees through its various academic programs in scientific, theoretical, and applied health specializations.
The university is also distinguished by its competitive outcomes in health programs, and seeks to build an attractive and distinctive educational environment to attract gifted and international students by providing scholarships on the "Study in Saudi Arabia" platform. Taibah University offers its programs in Medina and its six branches in the governorates of Yanbu, Al-Ula, Al-Hanakiyah, Khaybar, Al-Mahd and Badar, where the quality of the programs offered has been adapted to the needs of each governorate.
The university is also working to develop and modernize its academic programs in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, with the aim of increasing the employment rates of graduates according to the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program, one of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs.
Through an elite group of distinguished researchers who graduated from prestigious international universities and through its five research centers, the university seeks to achieve national priorities in the areas of research, development and innovation. The university's Center of Genetics and Inherited Diseases is one of the peripheral centers accredited and supported by the Saudi Genome Program, which aims to determine the human genome sequence for 100,000 Saudi citizens.
This initiative is a pioneering vision of the Kingdom and the largest in the Middle East in the field of health.
The university is also working on developing a strategy that reflects its commitment to enhancing its competitive value and raising its status and rankings locally, regionally and globally.
